Yoshioka Onsen Kaikan Ichinoyu
吉岡温泉会館 一ノ湯 · Yoshioka Onsen
Can you bathe here with a tattoo?
This is the question we built the site around, so we answer it per situation.
Visiting for the day
The tattoo policy is not stated publicly. A private (kashikiri) bath is available, which is often an option for tattooed guests.
How it scores
Every onsen on this site is scored on the same five things.
The baths
Indoor bath
Two large baths - the timber 'Kiburo' and the rock-built 'Iwaburo' - each with a waterfall shower bath. Genuinely free-flowing simple spring (weakly alkaline, pH 8.0, high temperature).
Open-air bath
Each large bath has an open-air section.
Private (kashikiri) bath
A family bath with a small courtyard garden and a barrier-free bath, 2,200 yen for 40-50 minutes, reservations given priority. There is also a separate private bath for dogs and a Finnish tent sauna using spring-water loyly (book by the day before).
A private bath means nobody else is in the water with you — often the practical answer if the shared baths are closed to tattooed guests.
