The baths
Private (kashikiri) bath
Four private bath huts built in the shape of the Myoban yunohana thatched sheds, named after the local mountains (Yufu, Tsurumi, Takasaki, Ogiyama). Sulphur spring.
Open to day visitors
A private bath means nobody else is in the water with you — often the practical answer if the shared baths are closed to tattooed guests.

- ¥2,000Price is per hut per hour (2,000 or 2,500 yen depending on the hut), not per person. No phone reservations - you put your name down in person and wait your turn, and they stop taking names once the slots fill. Weather can change the hours.

- In the Myoban district on the same site as the yunohana thatched sheds (a national important intangible folk cultural property). Buses 5, 41 (Beppu Station west exit, about 26 min, 360 yen) or 24 (east exit, about 30 min, 440 yen) to Myoban. Free parking.
