How it scores
Every onsen on this site is scored on the same five things.
The baths
Open-air bath
Open-air baths on both the men's and women's sides, looking into a garden of mixed native broadleaf trees planted to blend into the hill behind.
Indoor bath
Indoor baths on both sides. The women's side has an indoor wooden sauna; the men's side has an outdoor barrel sauna added in the 2024 refurbishment. The women's changing area was rebuilt at the same time with a powder room, a nursing room and a nappy-changing table.
