The cheapest proper bath in this corner of Aichi: 620 yen buys an indoor hall of jet and bubble tubs plus a rock-built open-air bath looking onto the Uren River, in a 1990s public sports complex that also holds a 25 m pool and a gym. The operator calls the water a hot spring but publishes no spring analysis, so treat the water as ordinary rather than special. Tattoos are refused building-wide.

Day visit price: ¥620
620 yen for the bathhouse alone (adults, one visit). Children 310 yen, under-school-age 150 yen. A separate 530 yen ticket covers the pool and gym, and an all-facility ticket is 1,150 yen. Holders of a Japanese disability certificate pay half. Face towels are sold and bath towels rented at the desk; shampoo and body soap are provided.

Getting there: A municipal sports-and-bathing complex in Notonose, Shinshiro City, downstream of the Yuya Onsen gorge on the Uren River. About a 10-minute walk from Yuya-Onsen Station on the JR Iida Line, or about 20 minutes by car from the Shinshiro IC.
