A plain rock-built open-air bath in the trees on the grounds of the Hirayu Folk Museum. Iron-rich water that runs brown. Open-air only, no indoor bath, and the changing facilities are basic.

- ¥300Donation only (sunshi) - the Hirayu Onsen association lists no fixed price, and Gifu Prefecture's tourism site puts the customary amount at around 300 yen in the box. Admission to the folk museum on the same grounds is free. Towels are sold, not lent. Bring coins.

- In Hirayu Onsen, a few minutes' walk from the Hirayu Onsen bus terminal, which is the main interchange for buses from Takayama, Matsumoto and Kamikochi. This is the one Okuhida open-air bath you can reach without a car.
