A large day-use bathhouse on Mount Inasa, open until 1:00 in the morning, with open-air baths looking down over Nagasaki - the city's famous night view, seen from the water, for 850 yen. Stone saunas, a restaurant and a free shuttle bus from the station area make it an easy half-day. Two things to know: the spring is not described on the official pages, and tattoos are refused outright, cover stickers included.

Private (kashikiri) bath

Private family baths, 3,000 yen for 60 minutes for up to 4 people. Note that the chain's rules exclude tattooed guests from the premises, so the family bath is not a way around the ban here.

Day visit price: ¥850
850 yen on weekdays, 900 yen at weekends and on public holidays; 450 yen for ages 3 to elementary school on weekdays. Towel rental 120 yen, bath towel 200 yen. A private family bath is 3,000 yen for 60 minutes for up to 4 people, and a bath-plus-stone-sauna set is 1,300 yen on weekdays.
Staying overnight: No
Getting there: At Iwami-machi 451-23 on the slope of Mount Inasa above Nagasaki, with 300 free parking spaces. The bathhouse runs its own free shuttle bus on a loop towards JR Nagasaki Station and towards Sumiyoshi.
