Hitachi City's own day-use bath on the Ishihama coast beside the Unomisaki headland, one of the few places on this stretch of shore where you can bathe without booking a room. Water is drawn from 1,300 m down but no spring analysis is published, so treat it as pleasant rather than distinctive. The open-air bath is shut whenever the wind gets up. Under 1,000 yen on a weekday, and tattoos are refused at the door.

At 605 Ishi, Juo-cho, Hitachi City, on the pine-backed Ishihama coast next to the Unomisaki headland. About 10 minutes by taxi from Juo Station on the JR Joban Line; a car is easier.
