The bath for the far western end of Chichibu, on the way up to Mitsumine Shrine and Lake Chichibu. The water comes from 1,000 m underground: a weakly alkaline (pH 8.4) spring with sodium, chloride, hydrogen-carbonate and metaboric-acid ions, which the city describes as unusually rich in dissolved minerals. The bus stop is at the door, so it pairs well with a shrine visit by bus.

Yes — you can bathe without staying overnight.
10:00-20:00 from 1 April to 30 November, 10:00-19:00 from 1 December to 31 March. Closed on Thursdays (open when Thursday is a public holiday, with no substitute closing day). Reopened on 18 July 2025 after maintenance work.

Getting there
Part of the Otaki Onsen roadside station in the upper Arakawa valley. From Mitsumineguchi Station (end of the Chichibu Railway) take a Seibu Kanko Bus heading up the valley and get off at Otaki Onsen Yutokan, right outside (a secondary listing gives about 16 minutes). Some express buses from Seibu-Chichibu Station also stop here.
