A plain, cheap local bath in the inland part of Kitaibaraki, 700 yen on a weekday and 600 yen after four in the afternoon. The water is a sodium-calcium sulfate spring, the kind locals come for rather than tourists, with an indoor and an open-air bath. Nothing here is scenic; the appeal is the price and the fact that it is a real neighbourhood onsen rather than a resort. No tattoo policy is published anywhere.
