The obvious add-on to a day at Moomin Valley Park: it sits next to Metsa on the shore of Lake Miyazawa, and the open-air bath looks towards the lake. The water is a weakly alkaline simple spring - pleasant but not distinctive. Heated rooms, bedrock bathing and a restaurant (Tenpu) are on site; bring your own towel if you want the cheapest entry-only ticket.

Entry only (no towels): adults 1,050 yen on weekdays, 1,100 yen at weekends and on public holidays; primary-school children 850 / 950 yen. With a towel set: adults 1,350 / 1,400 yen. With towels plus the heated rooms and bedrock bathing: adults 1,850 / 2,100 yen.

Next to Metsa (Moomin Valley Park) at Lake Miyazawa in Hanno. From Hanno Station (Seibu Ikebukuro Line) take a route bus to the Metsa stop (about 15 minutes), then walk about 5 minutes. By car, about 6 km from Sayama-Hidaka IC on the Ken-O Expressway.
