The baths
Open-air bath
Large open-air area with the on-site 'Kyo-bijin no Yu' spring in a rock bath, a super-carbonated bath, a single-person tsubo pot bath of source water, lie-down carbonated baths in six shallow tiers, and a herbal-salt steam sauna. Sodium-calcium chloride spring, up to 380 litres a minute, certified as a therapeutic spring.
Indoor bath
17 bath types in all across indoor and outdoor, including jet baths, a milk-ion fine-bubble bath, a body-temperature fukan-no-yu, a carbonated seated bath, and a far-infrared sauna with automatic loyly. Two saunas plus fully private bookable saunas (reservation required, from 3,300 yen).
In-room bath
Two suite room types have a private bath - the Suite has a terrace-style open-air bath and the Deluxe Suite a private natural hot-spring bath. Hotel guests only. Note that the facility-wide tattoo ban applies to entering the building, so these are not a workaround.
A private bath means nobody else is in the water with you — often the practical answer if the shared baths are closed to tattooed guests.

- ¥1,430Weekday adult 1,300 yen before tax = 1,430 yen; Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and designated dates 1,500 = 1,650 yen. Children (elementary and under) 660 / 770 yen. A separate 75 yen bathing tax is added for adults on top of all of these. Entry between 6:00 and 9:00 is charged at a cheaper morning rate of 1,200 = 1,320 yen. Towels are not included (330 yen rental set; free for app members). Add-ons on top of admission: recliner room +550 weekday / +770 yen, stone bath (ganbanyoku) +990 / +1,100 yen, private sauna from 3,300 yen. Staying past 2:00 adds a night surcharge of 1,650-2,200 yen plus another 75 yen bathing tax and lets you stay until 11:00.

- Getting there
- Very easy without a car. The nearest station is JR Matsui-Yamate on the Gakkentoshi line, 7-8 minutes on foot, and free shuttle buses run every two hours from Keihan Kuzuha, JR Matsui-Yamate and Kintetsu Shin-Tanabe stations. From Kyoto Station, the Keihan Direct Express Chokkyu Kyoto bus from Hachijo-guchi reaches the Akanegaoka stop in about 30 minutes, 5 minutes on foot from the door. A Kansai Airport limousine bus stops at Kosoku Kyotanabe, 3 minutes away. Parking is free for the duration of your visit.
