Nikko's municipal bathhouse and the cheapest proper onsen near the shrines, though the out-of-town rate doubled to 1,000 yen in April 2026. The water is an alkaline simple spring, colourless and noticeably slippery, and the building sits in a wooded valley rather than in town. It is set up for a long stay rather than a quick dip: a tatami rest room with massage chairs, a dining room serving yuba soba and Nikko pork katsu, a shop and a children's corner. There is a direct bus from Nikko Station, but nothing else to see within walking distance.

Rates changed on 1 April 2026. Visitors from outside Nikko pay 1,000 yen (junior-high age and up, and also 65 and over) and 700 yen for children aged 4 to primary school. Nikko residents pay 500 / 300 / 250 yen. Under 4 free.

Getting there
At 1726-4 Kiyotaki Wanoshiro-machi, in a quiet valley below the Kiyotaki interchange, about 25 minutes west of central Nikko. A local bus signed for Yashio no Yu runs from Nikko Station in about 20 minutes, or it is a 15-minute walk from the Kiyotaki 1-chome stop. Five minutes by car from the Kiyotaki IC on the Nikko-Utsunomiya Expressway.
