Tattoos not allowed (day visit)

Can you bathe here with a tattoo?

This is the question we built the site around, so we answer it per situation.

Visiting for the day

No — tattooed guests are turned away

Guests with tattoos are refused entry to the facility, so private baths are not an option either.

A ridge-top municipal bath over the Kofu basin, open to 23:00, which makes it the night-view counterpart to Hottarakashi. Well kept and well equipped for the price - but the operator advertises Yatsugatake and the Southern Alps, not Mt Fuji, and tattoos are refused at the door.

Scored from official photos, maps and transport information — not from a visit.

The baths

Open-air bath

A large open-air bath at 370 m elevation looking out over the whole Kofu basin, with Yatsugatake and the Kita-dake peaks of the Southern Alps opposite. NO MT FUJI CLAIM: the operator names Yatsugatake, the Southern Alps and the basin panorama and does not mention Mt Fuji, so do not come here expecting Fuji.

Open to day visitors

Indoor bath

Indoor bathing room with medium/hot tubs, sauna and cold bath.
