The tattoo policy is not stated publicly. A private (kashikiri) bath is available, which is often an option for tattooed guests.

Closed since 2 June 2026 after equipment failure, with no reopening date announced. When open, visitors from outside Nikko pay 1,000 yen (junior-high age and up, and also 65 and over) and 700 yen for children aged 4 to primary school; Nikko residents pay 500 / 300 / 250 yen. The private bath is 4,000 yen for 50 minutes and is not covered by the residents' exemption. The in-house sauna is also out of service.

Getting there: At 278-2 Kawaji Onsen Kawaji, Nikko, on the Ogawa river in the middle of the Kawaji hot-spring village. Ten minutes on foot from Kawaji-Yumoto Station on the Yagan Railway Aizu-Kinugawa Line, two stops beyond Kinugawa Onsen.
