The baths
Open-air bath
'Hamachidori no Yu', the inn's signature mixed-gender open-air bath out on the headland, looking straight down the Pacific - the inn describes the sea changing from morning blue to evening madder red. Women (and anyone who prefers) change into a yuamigi bathing garment provided in the changing room, so it is not a nude mixed bath.
Indoor bath
'Umi-tsubaki' bathhouse: indoor tub plus a cypress-barrel open-air tub and a rock open-air tub, fed free-flowing from two different sources (Aiki and Monju).
Private (kashikiri) bath
Two private open-air baths - 'Sekisho no Yu' (Aiki source) and 'Iwato no Yu' (Monju source) - set along the path that descends towards the sea. FREE of charge, no advance booking: ask at the counter in front of the main bathhouse and use one if it is vacant.
A private bath means nobody else is in the water with you — often the practical answer if the shared baths are closed to tattooed guests.
