Founded in 1630 in the Haya river gorge one stop above Yumoto, with a marble private bath built in 1917 that is free to staying guests. The operator states there is no public open-air bath, so this is about the building and the setting rather than the view from the water.

The baths

Indoor bath

Two indoor baths, 'Kinsen-no-yu' (capacity 10) and 'Megumi-no-yu' (capacity 5), swapped between men and women. Staying guests 13:00 to 10:00 next morning (closed 0:00-5:00); day visitors 13:00-20:00 (last entry 19:30). The official site states there is NO public open-air bath here.

One private family bath (indoor), built from marble imported from Italy in 1917. FREE of charge for staying guests. Reservation required for 15:00-23:00, taken same-day at the front desk on a first-come basis only (NO advance booking); no reservation needed 5:00-9:00. Day-use availability is not stated.

Getting there: About 5 minutes by bus from Hakone-Yumoto Station to the Kami-Tonosawa stop, then 1 minute on foot; the Hakone Yumoto ryokan shuttle bus (C course, Tonosawa line, 200 yen one way for adults) also stops nearby. A car is not needed; 22 free parking spaces are available.
