A large, well-equipped resort hotel by the Tone River with three bath halls and easy access from Minakami Station - the practical choice if you want Minakami without a car. The water is a pleasant but unremarkable sulphate spring and the setting is the hot-spring town rather than the mountains. Recorded here mainly because its tattoo ban is absolute and covers patches, which travellers need to know before booking.

The baths

Indoor bath

Three separate large baths - Tengu-no-yu, Seseragi-no-yu and Suikei-no-yu - drawing on two waters, a calcium-sulphate spring and a sodium-sulphate spring, at about 42C. Each bath has a different set of shower heads to try.

Open-air baths attached to the large baths, one with a dry sauna and cold plunge, another with bubble and jet tubs.
