The baths
Indoor bath
Water is piped straight from the Yubatake source with nothing added, and the baths are open around the clock to staying guests. The men's bath is a large indoor tub plus an open-air one; the women's bath is two tubs of different sizes and temperatures. The bathhouse is cypress-built with a lattice steam vent and heavy round beams. The water is normally green-tinged and clear, and only turns milky after heavy rain or when mineral flowers are being harvested at the Yubatake.
Open-air bath
The men's bath has an open-air section. The women's bath is described only as two indoor tubs, so do not assume an open-air bath on the women's side.

- In the village centre just below the Yubatake. From Naganohara-Kusatsuguchi Station on the JR Agatsuma Line take the JR bus about 25 minutes to Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal and walk. Check-in from 13:00, check-out by 10:00.
