Tattoos not allowed (day visit)

Can you bathe here with a tattoo?

This is the question we built the site around, so we answer it per situation.

Visiting for the day

No — tattooed guests are turned away

Guests with tattoos are refused entry to the facility, so private baths are not an option either.

Atami's biggest day spa and the strongest sea view in the town: a 25 m standing bath on the cliff edge above Sagami Bay, blue water by day and the lights of Atami after dark. Priced like a resort rather than a bathhouse, and it is a full day out rather than a soak.

Scored from official photos, maps and transport information — not from a visit.

The baths

Indoor bath

Large indoor bathing zone plus several saunas (including a view sauna and loyly).

Open to day visitors

Open-air bath

The signature feature is an open-air 'standing bath' about 25 m long looking straight out over Sagami Bay; free-flowing open-air tubs alongside it. Children aged 4 to elementary school may not use the standing bath, the free-flow open-air bath, the view sauna, loyly or the stone spa.
